We are excited to announce new open positions in and across seven locations in Michigan for a new program. If you are ready to make a difference, we invite you to explore the opportunities below. 

Open Positions

Coordinators, Teachers And Paraprofessional Postions:

Our OST Programs consist of the following staffing pattern:  (1) one Coordinator,  (2) two Lead Teachers, and (3) three Paraprofessionals per each of the (7) seven program sites that lead and oversee daily operations of our programs at the following locations in Michigan. 


  • 001: Beulah Missionary Baptist Church – Muskegon Heights, MI
  • 002: Family Life Center Church of God – Belding, MI
  • 003: Great Lakes Kingdom Ministry – Muskegon, MI
  • 004: Church of the Living God – Muskegon, MI
  • 005: Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church – Muskegon, MI
  • 006: Christ The Rock Apostolic Church, Inc. – Flint, MI
  • 007: Bethel Apostolic Church – Flint, MI


Compensation: Part Time up to $30.00 per hour for up to 20 hours per week + training stipend 


As a team member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of program by working with the Program Director, Team Members, and other community entities to ensure that program participants receive the best possible experience. Your leadership will help drive the mission of YES, Inc., and you will work directly shareholders.

Lead Teacher: Site 001: Beulah Missionary Baptist Church - Muskegon

Lead Teacher: Site 004: Church of the Living God - Muskegon


Paraprofessional:  Site 002: Family Life Center Church of God -Belding

Paraprofessional:  Site 004: Church of the Living God - Muskegon




 

Position Requirements

To apply for a position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Coordinator Position:

Minimum Qualifications:

        Educational Background:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree required.
  • Preferred: Graduate degree or relevant educational certification.

        Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of educational experience.
  • At least three (3) years in an educator role with leadership responsibilities.

        Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience working with struggling populations.
  • Strong coordination, collaboration, and communication skills, particularly with facility/site staff, and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Act as the leader on site, overseeing daily operations of the after-school program.
    • Manage and supervise a team of two teachers and three paraprofessionals, ensuring roles and responsibilities are executed effectively.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Foster a positive, collaborative environment by leading with empathy and modeling professional behavior.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, addressing challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Maintain clear and strong communication with all program stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, school staff, and community members.
    • Act as a liaison between the program and local schools, churches, and community partners.
    • Adapt communication to engage and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Program Execution:
    • Oversee the delivery of hands-on learning activities in math, literacy, and science, ensuring program goals are met.
    • Ensure compliance with childcare licensing rules and program policies.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Act as a quick thinker who can assess situations and implement effective solutions swiftly.
    • Proactively address issues and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Monitor attendance, collect and report data, and ensure proper documentation of program activities.
    • Organize and lead weekly team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies.

Key Skills and Traits:

  • Empathy: Build trust and rapport with students, families, and staff.
  • Strong Communication: Clearly and effectively convey information to a diverse audience.
  • Quick Learner: Adapt quickly to new challenges and environments.
  • Organizational Skills: Keep the program running smoothly by managing schedules, priorities, and resources.
  • Leadership: Inspire and motivate the team to achieve program goals.


Teacher (Educator) Responsibilities and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree with at least 12 credit hours in education.
  • Certified teachers are preferred, but non-certified teachers meeting the degree and credit-hour requirements will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated success in improving academic outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tutoring instruction in math, reading/literacy, and science.
  • Implement major services/activities outlined in the program's plan.
  • Support students in improving academically through effective instruction and personalized learning.
  • Maintain communication with students, team members, colleagues, parents, and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to have strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment.

Paraprofessional Educator Responsibilities and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of college hours in education.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of educational experience working with struggling students.
  • Completion of CEU training hours in classroom management and parent communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering tutoring instruction in math, reading/literacy, and science.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement major services/activities of the program.
  • Provide academic support to struggling students and ensure all program goals are met.

Skills and Traits:

  • Dependable and dedicated to student success.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with others.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Phase 3: Complete the Phase III documents 'tasks
  • Phase 4: Complete the review of Conditional Requirements.
  • Phase 5: Attend the in-person review of Phase 1-4 to close gaps in the process.
