Three-Week Educator Preparation Program
 
Benefits

  • The program is designed to ensure that during an intensive three weeks of coaching, mentoring, guidance and support, hired educators will be more effective than when they began the session and will score a 3.23 or better on the Educator Effectiveness Process Teacher Observation Rubric.

Funding supports the hired educators with:

  • $100 per week day
  • Mileage and other travel costs associated with participating fully in the full three (3) week program
  • A daily meal rate of between $20 - $40 per day
  • A hotel or similar accommodations for the entire three-week session

Funding does not support the travel expense of applicants who travel back home on the weekends.

Week One Focus: Introductions, Overviews and Orientations

A. Overview of the four charter districts and your specific district and campus
B. Overview of DISC survey to be used with the campus leaders where you will be placed.
C. Overview and introduction to the campus’ structures and lesson planning
D. Educator Effectiveness Process modified 101 course work
E. Introduction to the Educator Effectiveness Rubric
F. Observation of classrooms
G. Introductions of “walk through” protocols to utilize while conducting observations.

Week Two Focus: Intensive Curriculum Guidance for Lesson Planning and Teaching

A. Intensive Lesson Planning and Teaching
B. Coaching and Mentoring based upon teaching and lesson planning activities
C. Continuation of Utilization of the EEP Rubric
D. First official observation/evaluation with pre-and post-conferences.

Week Three Focus: Completion of Observation Cycle for Summer Session

A. Intensive Lesson Planning and Teaching continued
B. Coaching and Mentoring based upon teaching and lesson planning activities
C. Continuation of Utilization of the EEP Rubric
D. Second/Final official observation/evaluation with pre-and post-conference
